Nunca he dicho, como se escribe en ese artículo de Angela Molina que es un ejercicio de memoria vaga de una cosa que ella dijo que NO era una entrevista, nunca he dicho: “S.S. hace el trabajo de un insider; yo hago arte outsider”. Semejante frase nunca salió de mi boca (otras frases, sí). Lo que yo dije es: “S.S hace el trabajo de un insider; algunos de los artistas con los que he trabajado en Lo Inadecuado son verdaderos outsiders”.

Outsider art is outside of what exactly? this is what we are discussing these three days in the Spanish pavilion (el pabellón). Alessandro dal Lago and Serena Giordano, who hopefully will update some information themselves, discussed brilliantly with the audience about behaviour, sociology, frames, non-written norms, convention, and GOFFMAN (Alessandro, thanks so much), outsider, insider, prejudice, received ideas, criticism, resistance (Serena, thanks so much again)

The main dish of the day, as the main dish of these three days, is the LIVE performance of WURMKOS. Hopefully they will as well upload some information and footage themselves to this site.

Wurmkos, an ever-changing ensemble of individuals, was founded in 1987 by the artist Pasquale Campanella at the Cooperativa Lotta contro l’Emarginazione in Sesto San Giovanni, a halfway house for psychologically distressed people.  It is an experience that puts art and psychological distress together without however making “treatment” the objective, as it is art-therapy.
(…) The group’s self-defined objective is to promote artistic experience itself as a specific choice of a direct relationship with society, for the re-conquest of places where creativity and illness are the protagonists of social relations rather than of marginalization, spreading its own artistic work in the worlds of culture and art.
