Friday June 24: Eva Fabbris tells about the meeting with Corrado Levi, Liliana Rampello, and Marguerita Morgantin

Dear Dora,

Corrado Levi explored his memories on Mario Mieli, commenting a series of photos screened in front of us. “The first time they met, in San Babila in Milan, Mario was taking the streets wearing a long evening dress of his mother, decorated with two stars made of real diamonds”. The first photo Corrado commented was taken in San Remo, where Mario went to protest against a Psychiatry summit focussing on how to beat the problem of homosexuality. Then reflections on his books, especially on “Elementi di critica omosessuale”; the experience of “Fuori”; the theater piece “La Traviata Norma”.

Liliana Rampello, starting from a question about the relationships between feminist movements and lesbian groups, explained how liberating was the experience of the movements, in terms of individualities. So, being a woman before being a lesbian. Then she read the Manifesto di Rivolta Femminile (1970) by Carla Lonzi, explaining how important was for her to read such a free and autonomous way of writing on “classical” philosophy. It was very intense.

Then Margherita, from a different generation, added her experience on reading feminist texts, especially by Luisa Muraro, finding the proper words for some feelings and ideas she couldn’t express with her own language.

later I am writing about this morning on Grifi
Ciao!
